Mage of All Trades

With the spliting/breaking of Consumed, I’ve spent a lot of the last week doing salvage runs.  We got 500k for our first glass from the Consumed bank, which is stupid since the whole linkshell was supposed to go to Staren when Rev and Arrey stepped down…but it ended up being a “oh, we’re breaking the shell and keeping the gil.”  Oh well, it is what it is.

Star and I met these really nice guys doing a salvage pick up run — one of our very first dynamis officers came with for the run and he’s super nice, so it was fun to see him again.  Since then we’ve done 3-4 salvage runs with these two, and it’s gone really well.  We’re still doing our 4-a-week static with friends, but that gives us 3 extra tags a week…and we’ve been using them.  Last night was a double boss run — we did Zhayolm and got to like 6% before wiping :<  We had an all but useless white mage and monk though, and it kind of took it’s tole.  We did fairly well until the last 10% when we got 3 discords in the span of a minute, I kid you not.  I’m told the boss is typically zerged for the last 10%, but we were recovering from an earlier mishap where our two good monks died, and we just weren’t able to get on top of things by the 10% mark between the crummy WHM and 3rd MNK.

Right after that was our static’s run, and since we were missing a few people (Saturday is so hit or miss for us, like 5 people are maybes on Saturday and I don’t think any were there last night), so our friends from this pick up group tagged along ^^ Hopefully we’ll be able to do another run with them tonight since we don’t have dynamis — we decided after the break, and the other group stole some of our memebers (and by that, I mean Star should have gotten everyone who wanted to do dynamis, and these people basically said come join us and didn’t mention Star was still a leader…), that we’d take a 1.5-2 week break to recruit some new members and whatnot.

Hmm, what else have I been up to…

Einherjar: It’s been canceled for the last few weeks due to Aion’s release.  The linkshell I go with apparently has a LOT of people missing due to the new MMO o:

Limbus: We did an Omega and an Ultima within the last two weeks, and managed to get a few nice pieces: Shoes/Body/Hands off Omega, and Hat/Hands off Ultima.  I’m first in line for Nashira Seraweels now, and really looking forward to getting them :)

SMN: The other day, Q and I ended up going to duo Imps on our Summoners, and it was really fun :D Not anything else about it to really make note of, other than I rarely ever use my summoner and it really is a fun job, so it was nice to be able to dust my gear off and play with it for a bit :)

Sea/Ix’Aerns: Probably a week and a half ago or so, Star and I and a few friends popped Ix’MNK and got the kill — only a deed dropped, unfortunately, but hey it was 40k or so for each of us.  Yesterday, I got on and found Star and Q in sea, camping Ix’DRK, so I ended up joining them.  Iwas on WHM, and thought they had said Ix’DRG so I swapped to BLM and then had to change to RDM ~_~ Lots of changing!  It was fun though, we killed probably 4-5 rooms and just as I was going to log for a nap, Q got the message in his chat log so we popped the NM and off we went.  It was actually a really fun fight — out of all the Ix’s it may be my favorite, sans the bagillion reraises (I think we had 7-8, which isn’t horrid; first time Idid it we had around 20).  Star pulled the Aerns out of the room to the zone and got all the ghrahs, and then I grav/bound the two Qo’Aerns and ran them to the zone while Q ran to the balcony room.  He ended up dying :< so on my way back I grabbed Ix’DRK and kited him by myself for a good 10-15 min while I waited for Star to unweaken and Q to hp and run back.  Pretty easy with D. Chapeau and W. legs!  Only a deed off him too, but oh well!

Lately…I’ve just not been feeling like playing nearly as much.  I still enjoy the game, but ugh.  Between early(ish) classes and late(ish) events, my sleeping schedule is WAY out of wack.  We’ve recently tried upping Salvage to 4 nights/week, and I don’t really think it’s helping, that’s for sure!  Right now, my schedule looks like this:

Monday: Limbus 7:30-9:30, Salvage 10-12
Tuesday: Salvage 10-12
Wednesday: Salvage 10-12
Thursday: Dynamis 8-12
Friday: Limbus 7-9, Einherjar 9:30-10
Saturday: Salvage 10-12
Sunday: Dynamis 8-12

I always said I didn’t want to do events every day of the week, that I wanted at 2-3 days to relax and do other things…and that clearly isn’t the case anymore!  On the one hand, I LOVE doing salvage; really, I enjoy all of those events.  I miss doing sky, I wish I could do sea.  Right now though, with working 2-3 days a week, I honestly just want to sleep in the afternoons to make up for sleep I didn’t get at night due to events or homework!  Which…leaves me no free time in game.  Most nights, if I’m not doing an aforementioned event, or something like assaults or ISNM or meriting to keep up with the events…I’m not online.  I sit in my mog house and stare at my moogle!

I’m almost tempted to say I’ll push through this stupidly busy schedule until I get a few Salvage pieces, but I know that won’t work.  I do Salvage with friends, and it would be 100% awful to get my stuff then get out.  But…I don’t really want to quit anything else, either.  Oh well, I’m sure I’ll figure something out!

So: little updates on the above listed items~

Salvage: Well, I touched on this last weekend!  We’ve had some pretty good luck this week though, that’s for sure!  A week ago today we did our very first SSR, and Monday was our second — from which I netted a pair of Macha’s Slops!  Tuesday was a failed Bhaf. boss run :< from which I still need my 25 Morrigan’s body, and Wednesday was a 35-less Arrapago farm.  Tonight, though, we tried our very first Zhaylom! There’s still tons of room for improvement, lotting was a bit sloppy.  Our biggest mistake was that we didn’t get our THF an ability cell, so we were kind of hurting on the 5th floor.  We didn’t even get to the 6th, which is were our wanted items were :(  We killed the 5th floor froggie with a good chunk of issue due to TONS of charm, a mistargeted DoT, DoTs wearing, Star being weakened at the start…basically a whole slough of things. HOWEVER!: we did get a 35 for our troubles!  We killed the NM with 3 people alive and less than 5 minutes remaining, but we DID get the Marduk’s 35 body piece :)  Star was going to pass it to me, but I’m glad he ended up getting it.  We’ve gotten…7 35s total now?  Marduk/Morrigan Body, Skadi Feet, Usukane pants x2, Morrigan pants, Morrigan Cuffs.  Right, 7.

Two went to me, my #1 and my #2, so I’ve been really lucky with that.  Star’s actually gotten two too now — Marduk body (which was completely open), and Morrigan hands (which was one of his interest pieces).  Overall I’ve been pretty happy with Salvage, we’ve had some pretty big bumps but nothing we couldn’t handle.  7 35s in 9 weeks isn’t too shabby!  Of course, we’ve only finished 2 pieces, but we’re working on it :)  I think only 2-3 of us have our #1 35s, so we’re making sure to focus on the 35 farm runs as well as boss runs yet.

Dynamis/Limbus: Nothing TOO interesting.  Completed another Ultima pop set last night, so we’ll hopefully be doing that a week from Monday!  Friday was the kings route of Apollyon for the BLM SWAT party I was in, and I had a blast — that’s my very favorite limbus zone.  Dyna, we won Sandy last Sunday, and farmed Bastok Thursday.  We were short members so had someone swap to PLD for the first time, and on a pull they accidently pulled the wrong NM, not realizing there was 2.  Not a huge deal, we’ll be back to Bastok sooner or later.  Making some nice currency compared to our all snow month last month, I can say that much!

Assaults: I’m now either 16 or 17 away from Captain, and really excited :) Star and I haven’t been as good about doing assaults as we should be, but hopefully it won’t be too long until we’ve both got captain rank and can focus on getting some of the Yigit pieces we want!  Yes, I realize I’m crazy…working on Yigit and doing Salvage as often as I am .___.  I’m thinking I’ll swap to doing RvB 4x a week once I get captain, and trying to do 3 runs a week to get points for Yigit stuff.  Not sure if that’ll work though since I typically have to help leech people in our Salvage group points. Oh well!

Merits: I haven’t been doing a TON of this, but a decent amount.  My White Mage is getting pretty close to capping out, I think I’m at 15/20 job specific merits now!  @2/5 Regen potency and @3/5 Cure cast time I think.  I debated on going for Barspell, but I don’t really do anything that NEEDS it.  I’ve got Shellra V fully merited, and have relic pants and Blessed body, so that should be pretty good for most things I do, I’d think!

Einherjar: I gave Star crap for not putting BRD on his application (he didn’t want to go BRD, which was fair enough I guess), but UGH, it’s 3 weeks in and I’ve been BRD every stinking time.  I mean, I know that’s only 3 times, but I really do believe I’ll ONLY be BRD :<  I’ve been spoiled, I get to bounce jobs pretty much everywhere else, and BRD is not my favorite job.  I enjoy it, but it really erks me in einherjar.  I keep telling myself it’s so much easier to recap BRD buffer though than it would be anything else.

Anyways! That’s about all I’ve been up to lately…maybe I’ll level another job or get a live outside of events at some point, but it sure doesn’t seem to be anytime soon!

Quotes of the Day:  First one is of Ty and I talking during dynamis, about the AB/SMN thing.  He started to tell me this really amusing little blurb, and I DC’d in the middle…so he kindly repeated it for me so I could SS it!

I don’t remember the exact context of this, but it amuses me.  I think it had something to do with us getting incentive, and that we needed to use that gil for RR?  That and this month the incentive would be much nicer than last month!

Last night my Limbus linkshell did Storms of Fate!  It was fun…but stupidly easy.  I got to be in the tank party…I love being in the tank party as WHM (:  After the better chunk of a year doing it in Sky (which was always amusing because I also had RDM-BRD-BLM leveled…but always came WHM), and even in Dynamis when I first started, I love being the WHM in the tank party.  We had a RDM, a BRD, and two PLD, plus me!, so it was a nice little tanking group!  Bahamut wasn’t even as tricky as the sky gods though, so boo.  He was so squishy!  The only tricky part was they were killing him so fast he was using his nasty AoE moves every 10% pretty close together.  I think he came after me after my 4th or so Curaga III :3  Never died though, nor did either of my PLDs :D  It was a fun fight, but a bit of a challenge woulda been nice!

Got in a bit of a fight with Pik; I volunteered to ask DMLS people to help with the fight since we were short people, and he said that if any of the leaders came, he was leaving.  He’s still pissy about the rule change–I’m not happy that it made people leave, and wasn’t ok with it at first, but I can still like the leaders (and do, I never stopped liking them because they passed this rule).  We do Nyzul with one leader fairly often, and I’ve hung out with another leader IRL, and they’re both really nice.  The last one, is, um, interesting, but I don’t refuse to do things simply because he’s around–I can toss a cure his way, or R3 him if I’m on WHM no problem.  Pik was just being really pigheaded about it–”they’re the bad guys, they’re all awful, I don’t want anything to do with them, and nothing you can say will change your mind.”  That last bit is really what gets to me, I hate it when people have different opinions and try to force them upon me without listening to anything I say–where it’s their way or the highway–and they refuse to listen to anything I say.  Not the biggest deal, but was a bit dissapointing.  I miss Vidrie, he’s stolen her away from both my social linkshell and my dynamis linkshell now, but with how he’s been acting I’m not missing him too much.

Anyways, not a ton other than that has happened.  I need to do Campaign to fix up my buffer on RDM and rank up.  WHM buffer could use some improvement as well, and even BLM after the failed Brothers ENM attempt.  BRD’s capped, SCH’s still never been capped :3  Am meriting atm, gogo throwing more merits into BLM, my “pet” job that never gets used for anything except goofing off.  I’ve basically told a lot of people though that “tell me I can come BLM, and I don’t care what it is, I’ll do it,” lol.  O-hat NM, I think it is, tonight.  This’ll be the second time I’ve gone to help DMLS with it, and I got mine with my social linkshell ages ago, lol.  That’s fine though :3  Last time I got dynamis points for going to help out, and I don’t know if I will this time (but I think so–we get extra points for helping out, and it’s in place of einherjar, which they canceled, so I think we get to pick where the points go), but it’s an easy enough fight.  Lol, I’m actually going BLM for that (…after saying I never get to go blm!), because I’ve got class until an hour after they’re starting so Star’s going to dual box for me and he’s got BLM leveled so that’d be the easiest job for him to play.  Though, I should probably check and make sure BLM’s actually useful…if not I’ll probably try and teach him how to come a different job and play that, but we’ll see.

Bleugh.  I hate feeling like I’m writing to complain about people in game…but at the same time, if I’m writing about what’s happening in ffxi, that is a large chunk of it.  I’ll start with more fun things though!

Nyzul
Most of us are on floor 40 now!  Poor Ryo, he had horrible lag when we were fighting the boss on floor 40 and managed to use his Fireflies without realizing it was too late though ):  We’ll hopefully get that taken care of tomorrow though so we can all start at floor 41 on Saturday for our next set of climbs.  We had some really nasty floors–jokes of “</3 to you either Blizzard” were found, followed by statements of “SE could never be so mean with these Nyzul floors!”  We did 2 floor 20 runs last night–we’ve been pretty good about using all 7 tags a week: four for climbing on Saturday, 3 during the week for boss floors.  Had Askar drop, and we need one of those yet for our static…but we timed out and no one got it ):

Dynamis
There’s been some talk of changing the rules, which I’m kind of iffy on.  I don’t want them to change, but I don’t know if I’d leave if they did.  From my understanding, most linkshells now allow people to lot on either currency (singles or 100 typically, not both though?) or relic, and they have their choice–though I am aware that some groups don’t give their members any currency.  Mine handles things differently.  The leaders collect all of the coins and sell them.  At the end of the month, 4 mil is tucked safely away to pay for the next month’s runs, and the extra gil is split up between members.  They want to nix that, and instead use that extra gil to pay for relics.  Basically once you get a stage four relic, they’ll pay for the rest of it.  However…this works for about 4-5 people.  The other 35 of us won’t benefit from it (before people think “oh, well  having people with a relic in dyna still helps everyone,” not really.  It’ll help people you’re in a pt with in dyna only, and who’s to say they’ll stick around in the ls for very long?  What about RL issues, what if they quit the game?  In that case, what if they sell their account, and make a nice chunk of rl-change off the work of the ls?).

So anyways, not quite sure where I sit on this, because I know there are groups who don’t get anything except relic, but I do like getting 200k or so each month from dyna…  And I certainly don’t want to feel like I’m putting time in and other people are benefiting off it by getting a relic while I’m sitting just hoping for AFv2.  Hopefully they won’t change it though, I rather like it how it is.

Did Dyna-Qufim the other day, which was fun…only got city AF though, and timed out before killing the boss.  Wee for short dynas.

Limbus/Einherjar
Nothing exciting–did another Omega last night which was nice.  Got two heads and a body, though one body free dropped since no one wanted it.  Puts Star closer in line to getting the body he’s been wanting though so that’s nice!  Needs moar Ultima, but he’s a jerk anyways.  We’ve not done einherjar for a wihle.  The leaders were gone all of last week which no one knew anything about, and so yesterday when they were actually there, most people didn’t even bother equipping their linkpearls so we couldn’t go.

Drama!

Hmm…I don’t know what all I’ve been up to, other than it’s certainly not been updating this blog. Oops o: The biggest thing since my last post: I dinged 75 on my Scholar yesterday! I was actually in a decent party capped at 72, so just a smidge lower than my 74, and we were getting a nice 20k/hour or so. And then they decided to disband–when I was ~1.3k tnl. I was pretty pissy after that, because seriously, that’s another 10 minutes. Needless to say, I spent the next hour and a half or so dinging 75. It was kind of nice though, I was poking W. Princes at Mount Z. and I actually didn’t have to rest when I was killing them! On BLM I typically have to do a few nukes and sleep to get a bit of mp back, but with Scholar I’m able to Gravity > do a few nukes > Sleep > use Sublimation > do a few more nukes > it dies > use Sublimation > rest.

Other than that… We’ve been making good progress on Nyzul! We’ve all got floor 30 saved on our discs, just about 1/3 of the way there! We’ve been doing really good on time–on one run we did our five floors in about 17 minutes and so did another floor for extra tokens. The next run we did the five floors in barely over 20 minutes. We did our first boss run last Wednesday, and got Ryo a nice pair of Askar shoes, and did another boss run last night (not everyone was at the Wednesday run so we had to redo 16-20 for the 3 members who needed it yet) and Rae got Askar shoes–2/2 on floor 20 drops! We now need: 2 Goli, 1 Denali, 1 Askar for drops yet from floor 20. The only mishaps we’ve had has been people being late (which we decided to move the static back an hour to make sure everyone can come on time) and we did one run where someone got a bit ansty and zoned us into Nyzul while our bard was still in Aht Urghan. That was our one “mess-up” this week, but considering we cleared 16-19 with four people I think we did pretty well. We only had 5ish minutes left for the boss so we just took our tokens and left at that point.

Here’s a few other things I’ve done over the past week or so, in no particular order:

- Got to hang out with Bene and Kenny one last time–it was so nice to see most of the people everyone!
- Ranked up in Campaign–just 4 more ranks until I can get my Cobra shoes!
- Got a handful of merits…9-12, I think?
- Did our first Proto-Ultima attempt! …and timed out at 1%
- Did Dyna – Bubu and watched one guy get 4/6 of the items that dropped…offically “Dyna – Issy” that night (:
- Rank 10 Bastok!
- Joined a new Einherjar LS

As far as the Einherjar LS (which, it’s called Deathga, LOL), I’m really pleased with it. DMLS does einherjar on Tuesdays, and I now have a night class so I can’t go. I’m just shy of getting my Omega Ring, and I really want to get Morgana’s Choker next, and was really not looking forward to missing out on Einherjar and ichor for several weeks. Quendi, the leader of my Limbus linkshell, and asked me before about coming to Einherjar with me because he only did it 1x/week with a different group on Fridays and his group wasn’t going that week. After hearing that, I poked him to see if I could tag along with his group for a while and found out they had stopped doing it. A few days later he told me that he had joined another group, and I was welcome to come as well. After talking to Staren, the two of us decided to test it out. Before I got there, Quendi told me that he felt, well, not gimp, but I forget what exactly he said and it was something to that extent–we both have D. Chapeau and in most of our linkshells very few people do. In this linkshell, nearly all of the red mages have them, and a handful are decked out in Morrigan’s gear as well. Everyone has such amazing gear! I almost feel out of place, but everyone’s really sweet. I actually know one of the leaders–he used to lead a different linkshell that a friend of mine was in, and the two of them were buddy-buddy so he came to a couple of things with my social linkshell. Anyways, we’ve not talked about what we’re going to do once my class ends…these next few weeks we’re kind of testing the waters, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we stuck with this group. Doing it 2x/week, even if we never get gear, is still really nice for ichor.

I’m sure there are other things I’m forgetting, but ah well. That’s the big stuff ^^ I’ll end with this amusing screenshot–Wiggin and I were both on bard in a merit party. He’s the old leader of my dynamis linkshell and was SUCH a good leader, so I love seeing him around every once and a while (he actually has a Nyzul static the same time I do so I see him waiting to enter now every Saturday!)

After a long night on Tuesday, Star and I managed to both ding 70!  Getting his level was actually pretty painful though…the tigers at Vunkerl didn’t want to behave.  Enimachia ended up coming out on his BLM to help us–we had 5 and were level synced to 63, and then 2 people left…with Vidrie, Star, and I trioing at 63 we had no issues, but this 3rd person wasn’t nearly as good as Vid.  So Eni came to help!  Seriously though, Star died so many times…  When he was finally about to ding, he said he was going to ding on the next mob.  The running joke of the evening was that I was trying to MPK him (I wasn’t!), but going along with that I said “I suppose now would be a bad time to tease about MPKing you?”  Eni and I both teased him a bit, and then he went to pull.  He snagged the kitty…and all 3 gigas, and gets eaten.  We recovered from that and went to try again, and once he dinged 70…someone aggroed a gigas, and he died and deleveled.  We did finally get his level, it was just a long, painful process.  Kinda like when I leveled my BLM in Vunkerl!  I think 2-3 times I lost my level 2x before actually getting a bit of a buffer.

Yesterday we went out to Mount Zhayolm, which was fun…other than the exp not being too grand.  Star, Vid, Pikel, Eni, Rimori, and myself made up the party, and it was nice (:  Having a fourth stratagem charge is really nice; it allows me to get +20% potency on nearly every nuke.  I got teased for not “sharing the wealth” by using weather effects, but tbh they wouldn’t have been incredibly useful.  Every mob, I swear, between the lot of us I saw every element as far as nukes went.  Firaga III, Aeroga III, Water IV, Stone IV, Thunder III, Blizzard III.

Monday’s limbus was short and sweetie–3rd floor Apolloyn, I believe it was.  Didn’t get anything useful for AF+1 mats, but we got a handful of coins *shrug*  Ultima is on Monday–I’m super excited!  Einherjar was Tuesday night, which went ok…we got everything killed and went to work on the NM–buffalo that night.  Timed out when it was at about 50-60% or so.  Dynamis last night was interesting; we did Bastok.  I managed to get a Wootz ore!  Vid got her BLM pants, so that was exciting, and then 2 more dropped and were open lot…I suck at lotting.  I lotted about 230 both times ; ;  I’ll get them sooner or later though, so I’m not too worried.  No SCH dropped, which I woulda been first in line for, but ah well.

Nothing’s in store for tonight as far as end game is concerned, but we’ll hopefully be doing a 7-5 run for Enimachia to get sea access.  Staren’s convinced we’ll get 2 levels tonight on BLM+SCH, which would be nice, but we’ll see if it actually happens.  I think he said we’d need 60k exp or so, which if we get 10k/hour is only 6 hours so that’s not that bad…that’d be doable, but we’ll hafta see if we can get it or not (:

Goals for 2009:

• Join a Salvage linkshell that does events 2-3x/week; make some progress on obtaining Morrigan’s/Marduk’s gear.
• Get a runic disc at floor 100; obtain 3 (feet, hands, body) if not 5 (hat, pants) Goli. Saio pieces.
• Captain ranking for assaults.
• Work more on meriting, and less on leveling! …while still getting a few more jobs to 37~40 for subjobs/level capped events.
• Bonecrafting to 100!  And 2-3 subs to 60.

Late, but better than never (:

Star and I have been leveling quite a bit–wee for BLM+SCH duoing.  He’s been BLM/NIN while I’ve been going SCH/RDM…except the one day I managed to go SCH/BLM.  He pulls, I sleep, we both nuke, and the pet is dead (:  For as much as /BLM sucks for SCH because of no defense at all, the way we do it I may as well always be /BLM tbh.  I’ve got blink as /RDM, which really doesn’t do a whole lot, and I’m used to sleeping/nuking between getting mauled from leveling black mage.  The elemental seal would be really nice too–I’ve been AoE’ing my Sleep II’s for when Star links the beastmaster, which rarely sticks on the gigas so have ES would be pretty nice all things considering.

Yesterday the two of us managed to both ding 68–or, to be honest, in the 1-2k before I dinged Star managed to die twice…so when I dinged he was 3k tnl and we were both ready to quit.  He finished up his level via campaign ops this morning though, so we’re still both just 300 exp apart which isn’t bad at all.

We didn’t do limbus really this week–we went on Monday but had to leave early, and didn’t make it at all on Friday.  Likewise, we didn’t make einherjar on Tuesday, and then dynamis was canceled on Wednesday, so it’s been a pretty wonky week.  Nyzul tonight though, I’m excited!  Time to get cracking on those goals for 2009! (:

Black Mage:
The day after we got Star sea, the two of us dinked around down there killing random mobs :3 He knew that I’d been wanting these, and since we both wanted him to get a taste of sea farming seemed like a good idea! We also ended up getting him a few organs as well, for when he gets closer to 71 and is wanting these for his black mage too (:

When we were out farming, he surprised me with these too! I’m a red mage first and foremost, so for me enfeebling = awesome. On my black mage I had +30 skill, and wasn’t planning on buying these; I figured I’d eventually camp the NM for the drop, but didn’t wanna spend 200k+ for them at the Auction House. Star had someone craft them for me though, and sign it too! \*^_^*/

I wasn’t expecting to get this–it was my first night at limbus and we’re not allowed to lot until either our 3rd run, or after we’ve been there for 3 runs, but I got this regardless (: I have Bard as Primary Lot, and Black Mage as Secondary…but no one had White Mage at all, and I was the only one semi-interested \o/

Hmm…other than that, not too much :3 Today I played with ranger a bit more, and got it up to 14. If I want to keep soloing (which I do), I found out today that I really need to be using bolts once I get to level 20ish…so I hafta work on leveling Marksmanship soon ): Don’t like skilling up, AT ALL, lol.

Did Tier II Einherjar, and though we didn’t beat the boss (FROGGIE!), we got full ichor \o/ Am at ~9/15k now towards my Omega ring~ After that Star and I did a short-ish meripo, and I got 2 merits, wee. I’ve got 3 now, and my plan was to toss them into Elemental Magic Skill for black mage, but that’s ~4pts below cap atm so I’d rather cap that before meriting it, so these 3 will just kinda hang out for the time being.

Oh! And I added twitter to the sidebar, twitter is nice <3  Now I’ll have random updates all the time, in addition to longer blog posts!

Well! I appear to have hit a brick wall with black mage.  I got these two shinies over the last few days in Vunkerl Inlet [S] though (:

Now that I’ve gotten 73 though, I’m officially too high to solo in Vunkerl Inlet [S]…130 exp every 3-4 min is not fun D:  I moved to Mount Zhayolm after I dinged 73…and that was no fun either ):  Wamoura Princes have a LOT of HP, and I resist a lot on them.  All of them take 6-7 nukes, depending on how horribly I resist, and I only have enough mp for 4-5 or so…fun, huh?  I’ve had a few duo/trio parties here, people I’ve all but begged to join up with, and that’s been better thankfully.

I chatted with another of the black mages I spent a nice chunk of time with in Vunkerl Inlet [S]…he was in party with me when I dinged 73, and he was 73 as well, and now he’s 75.  He said he stuck it ou tin Vunkerl Inlet [S] though, and just joined up with level 65-66 people and Level Sync’d to get 75.  Which -could- work, but if I’ve outgrown the zone I kinda like the idea of moving onto the next one.

This place will be nice to solo at, or come with friends to, at 75 though…I can already see how much Thunder IV, Blizzard IV, and AMII are going to help from the few parties I’ve been in.

Anyways! Non-BLM things.  Did Dynamis – San d’Oria Wednesday, it was pretty routine.  Staren helped pull Dynamis – Xarcabard on Sunday, so the leader wanted to know if he wanted to learn to pull Sandy as well, but he had to head to bed early.  Drops were kinda meh, I think we only got 5 or 6 compared to our normal 9-10 pre-September maintenance.

Last night was Einherjar, and Staren and I found a Nyzul Static in the process (maybe, we’ll see how this one turns out :3)!  We did our first Tier II Einherjar, and got trio bats + imps, no fun D:  Got 880ish bits of Ichor, so not horrid, but no win.  We were supposed to start doing Nyzul Assault after Einherjar, but Xxak forgot he had limbus…which I ended up going with for :O  It was so funny though, due to miscommunication in Einherjar (people saying pull!) before everyone was in we started, so the people outside got left outside.

For limbus, after waiting a good 90 min to start…the same thing happened.  Xytras was one of the ones who got left out of Einherjar…and he got left out of Limbus too, poor guy.  Xxak and I also were left out of Limbus, it was rather amusing.  They entered with MNK, MNK, BLM, BRD, forgetting the other BLM, BRD, and myself (RDM).  The three of us ended up trying to trio Temenos – North, I think it was? This thread on Allakhazam says that BLM have solo’d the first few floors for AF+1 items, so we figured we’d do pretty well with RDM+BLM+BRD…and it did not go well :x  It was amusing at least though :3

Probably not the -best- title for this entry, but my head hurts and that’s what I came up with without concentrating too hard on it :D  I was dinking around in Bibiki Bay getting rather miserable exp–about 3-4k/hour or so.  I started and was about 11,000/26,000 tnl, and figured I’d maybe knock out half of that or so before I gave up.  However! Enim piped up in linkshell that I was high enough to go do another zone and duo, if I wanted to–which I gladly took him up on his offer.

It’s a camp in Meri. Mountains [S], and it’s AMAZING.  Very little Yagudo movement, it resummons it’s avatar just about the same time MP is full…it’s just wonderful.  We did a timed AM–either Flood or Flare, and it killed the avatar every time.  Except once, when we both got resists, orz.  Anyways, we ended up getting ~8-9k exp/hour, so it was just really nice after Bibiki started being crummy exp.

I dinged 66! And am now just about 5k to level 67, so I officially have FOUR jobs high enough for the Maat fight (:  Enim dinged during our duoing as well, and is now 73, so it was a productive day!

Today I also worked on tidying up one of my guides–the Bard one is all shiny and fixed!  It’s my “End Game” Bard Equipment Guide, basically just with gear I’d like to have at 75, as well as a wide variety of options :3  It started out as just a goal list for myself, but I’ve made it much broader now ^^;;

It has all popup displays from FFXIAH.com, and I have a list of 40+ pieces I need to add to it soonish but haven’t yet.  For my Black Mage guide I have another 35+ items to add, AND I still need to fix it to have pop-up displays rather than links to Wikipedia.  AND, on top of that, I need to make a “End Game” guide for Black Mage as well, as the current one is just for Levels 1-65 really.  So much to do, so little time!

Hmm, then later tonight my dynamis linkshell did Einherjar…and failed, miserably, like always.  I originally started, not caring how we did persay.  I wanted ichor, and still do–Omega Rings are amazing.  However, a few of the Shadow pieces look really shiny, Clogs and Trews in particular.  Additionally, it’d be nice to get to Odin and have that win (:  Staren and I are currently toying around with the idea of switching to a different linkshell for Einherjar, but it’ll depend what we can find and when their times are.  If worst comes to worse, we stick around to get our ichor for our rings and then go back and do Einherjar later, maybe, for Abj. and Odin win.

Also! Staren and I along with a few other friends (Sloss in particular) have been trying to set up an Assault Static; we’ve been wanting to do Nyzul Isle Investigation and Salvage, but have decided it’s best to get to Captain rank before trying either of those :3  Anyways, we (sort of) started that tonight after Einherjar–it was 4/6 of the people who are in the static, anyways.  Fun stuff!
